Dr. Amadeus Lopez

Welcome to Gainesville Dental Associates! I am Dr. Lopez. Being a patient’s dentist at this great practice is an honor and a privilege that I take pride in. I have always known I wanted to be in the healthcare profession. My father was a medical doctor and my mother worked as a registered nurse for over 35 years. They instilled in me a passion for helping others and a work ethic that has driven me to chase my dream of becoming the best dentist I can be. Dentistry embodies my passion for helping others and supporting patients in their goal of achieving a healthy, functional, and beautiful smile.

My favorite aspect of being a dentist is forming lifelong relationships with my patients. My practice philosophy starts with listening to each patient’s individual needs and goals for their dental health and forming a unique comprehensive treatment plan to reach those goals together. My promise to my patients is that I will treat each individual as I would my own family. I strive to provide patients a comforting experience in the dental chair where they will be treated with respect, compassion, and detail oriented, quality dentistry.

I grew up on Long Island, New York, and attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY, graduating with a B.S. in Biomedical engineering in 2005, while also playing for the Men’s tennis team. I took a detour to dental school by working for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as a patent examiner upon graduation in 2005. This is where I found out firsthand that I was not cut out to be sitting in front of a computer in a cubicle all day, and that my true passion was for helping others. In 2012, I received my Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland in Baltimore, where I held numerous leadership positions, including Community Service Chair for my dental class. Following dental school, I completed a General Practice Residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, NY, gaining extensive training in implant restorations, oral surgery, rotary endodontics, fixed and removable prosthodontics, and cosmetic dentistry. After completing my residency and several years of working in private practice in New York City and Maryland, I finally found a home here at Gainesville Dental Associates the summer of 2018.

I am active in various dental organizations and keep up to date with the latest dental techniques and technology through continuing education courses. I am passionate about forming long lasting relationships with all of my patients, and understand that each and every patient deserves a dentist that is respectful, gentle, and truly cares about their dental health and well-being. When I am not working hard at keeping my patients smiling, I enjoy traveling, live music, long distance running, and rooting for my favorite NY sports teams with my wife and daughter.
